FAQ

When is Mirumiru Bubbletent open?
In 2024 we will be taking bookings from 29 March – 7 July.
What food do I need to bring?
You will need to self-cater for your stay at Mirumiru Bubbletent. Please bring all water for your stay. Our digital guest book will recommend our favourite places to eat and drink at.
Is our tent private?
Each tent has been positioned in our farm to give our guests maximum privacy. Not only that we have a privacy screen for each outdoor bath area. We ask our guests to remain in their allocated campsite area to ensure we meet privacy goals and keep everyone safe.
Does each tent have a bathroom?
Mirumiru Bubbletent provides an off-grid bathroom – with a waterless toilet and gas fired hot water for the outdoor bath.
Is it cold in the tent?
For those people that love crisp winters, campfires and toasting marshmallows, we have good news – winters in Tenterfield are cold. We have equipped each tent with luxurious silk quilts (including a winter weight option to add for subzero evenings) a heater and electric blanket to keep you warm. And we have our outdoor campfire to keep you warm when you are outside. We recommend you bring an outdoor waterproof jacket, scarf, beanie plus warm footwear.

For families using the Tiny Bubbletent during Winter we provide thermal-rated sleeping bags and options to join parents in the main Bubbletent. Due to COVID-19 we ask you bring your own hot water bottle(s).

Can you stay in the tent during the day?
You can stay in the tent during the day, however visibility is limited due to the heat shield we use to protect each tent. During Summer we don’t recommend staying inside on very hot days. You can relax in the shade outdoors or head to a local watering hole for a swim.
What happens if it rains?
During the day you can relax in the tent or head into Tenterfield or further afield for a selection of indoor activities. We provide under cover cooking gas stove facilities so that you still can make a meal should you want to camp out.
What clothes do we bring?
For the cooler months we recommend you bring an outdoor waterproof jacket, scarf, beanie, gloves plus warm footwear – if you feel the cold, thermal clothes may be an option for night time. Winter time temps can drop below zero, so a warm jumper is a must as well. During the warmer months make sure you bring a hat and sturdy shoes for walking.
Do I need a 4WD?
No, you can reach each tent by standard 2WD car. You cannot however drive anywhere else on the farm due to the large and unseen granite boulders. You can also reach scenic drives and national parks by standard car.
Where exactly are you located?
We are located just a short drive from Tenterfield Village. We will provide full details in our digital welcome book once you confirm your stay.
Are children welcome?
Mirumiru Bubbletent is Australia’s first family friendly Bubbletent offering. However as this is a working farm with dams and a Billabong, we don’t accept children under 7 years of age. We do expect our young guests to follow farm rules for their own health and safety.
Are pets welcome?
No – our cows tell us they don’t like them.
Do you have WIFI?
We currently can’t offer you WIFI but there is decent mobile coverage at the farm.
What time is check in and check out?
Check in is 3PM and check out is 10am.
What if there is a bush fire?
We have an Emergency Evacuation Process and Plan fully approved by the Rural Fire Service. Tenterfield has allocated bush fire emergency meeting points and details of what to do in a bush fire are outlined in our digital welcome book. And don’t forget we have full mobile coverage to keep you across weather changes.
